YourDreamsA short time ago, I heard the story of a young coach who was struggling to attract the things she desired into her life.

This girl had been raised by a Life Coach, and she understood the Law of Attraction. She was doing visualizations, having weekly sessions with coaches, and doing her homework… but despite all her efforts, she struggled to draw the things she wanted most.

One of these unattainable desires was a circle of strong, stable friends. People who were insecure and who needed her came into her life and stayed, but the stable people who befriended her were few and far between.

This was painful for her, and it left her wondering what she was doing wrong… until, one day, the realization hit her: she DID have mature, stable friends. Indeed, when she stopped to consider her situation, three people came to mind. Two of them didn’t need anything from her, but still desired her company, and one was a person who wanted her help.

Guess which one was the only one she was making room for in her life!

Have you found yourself doing something like that?

If there’s something you desire, but it remains stubbornly absent from your life, I’d like you to try a few exercises. They should take less than 12 minutes, and those 12 minutes could save you months or even years of suffering, so please do them right away before life gets in the way.

1. Think about something you’ve been struggling to obtain or create, with no success.

2. Make a list of your potential sources of this thing, relationship or experience.

If you’re struggling with money; list all your assets or potential income sources that come to mind within the next four minutes.

If you want a relationship but can’t find one, list all the actions you could take to get out and meet people. This includes actions you’re currently taking, and ones you aren’t taking yet.

If you’re struggling to make time for something, write down how long this thing would take, and take a look at your schedule. What activities are you doing that aren’t serving you, and what can be removed from your schedule or given a smaller chunk of your day, to give you the time you need to do what you want to do?

3. Take an honest look at how many of these possibilities you’re actually utilizing.

Are there assets or income streams you’re neglecting?

Do you have people in your life who are just what you need, but you aren’t making time for?

What actions could you or MUST you take to create what you desire, that you haven’t already taken?

Sometimes, people feel like they’ve tried everything, when in fact they’ve barely tried anything, or they’ve tried everything except for the action that will create the result!

Why does this happen, even to Life Coaches?

Because we’ve taught the subconscious mind to be used to a “state of lack” that we’ve possibly created over time,. it knows how to handle life as it currently is. So if it sees an opportunity for change, it will do everything in its power to blind you to it, or to keep you from seeing the possibilities that could arise from it.

The first step is to become aware of the problem. Then, take action to move toward your dreams, while reprogramming your subconscious to look for opportunities instead of concealing them.

Sometimes, this is difficult – or impossible – to do by yourself. You can’t see the big picture when you’re inside the frame.
