Do you ever find yourself confused by the conflicting stories that you hear about the Law of Attraction?
One person uses it to go from rags to riches in record time, while another tries to use it for years and ultimately gives up, because nothing whatsoever is changing in their lives.
What is the difference between these people, and how can you use this difference to improve your own life and that of the people around you?
Difference #1: Successful people use the Law of Attraction in conjunction with ACTION
Simply going about your life the way you’ve always done it, while imagining a future in which things are different, is highly unlikely to bring you results. If you want your life to actually change, your thoughts, words and actions have to change first.
You get to talk about your life the same way you visualize it. You aren’t ‘busy’, you’re ‘productive’. You aren’t ‘tapped out’; you’ve simply decided that it’s not the right time to take this course or make that donation right now.
And you get to take actions that move you toward the outcomes you’re intent on attracting. Don’t just dream of becoming a coach; take a course and get certified. Don’t merely visualize owning your own business; take the first step toward creating one now.
If your goal seems impossible from where you are now, ask yourself: “If it wasn’t impossible, what’s the first step I would take?”
Then, take that step.
Difference #2: Successful people take the RIGHT actions
You should never give up on a goal that’s important to you, but at the same time, it’s essential to be able to let go of a strategy that isn’t creating results.
For example, one young woman I know was trying to attract a strong, loving, supportive man into her life. After months and months of overcoming inner obstacles, putting herself out there, and trying to start conversations, she was no closer to this goal than she had been when she first started out.
Then her mentor pointed out: “Yes, you’re putting yourself out there, but you’re repeatedly doing it in the same locations where you’ve been getting no results, and you’ve filled your life so full of people who drain you and take from you that you’ve left no room for the people who want to give back. It’s great that you’re partaking in activities outside your house and making friends, but you need to focus on the ones that will support you and bring you closer to your goal.”
She thought about his words, and realized he was right; she was focusing her time on people and activities that seemed like a step forward, but were actually holding her back.
As you put the Law of Attraction into practice, it’s vital to make sure that the actions you take are working FOR you instead of holding you back.
How do you determine which actions to take, and which ones are working against you?
On your own, without training, it’s extremely difficult. You can make a lot of great decisions and take some big steps forward, but your old habits and paradigms will always be there, looking for ways to maintain the status quo.
It’s important to have people in your life who can see your blind spots, notice the areas where you aren’t taking action or where the actions you’re taking aren’t serving you, and gently nudge you on to the right track.
This is why people need to have a Life Coach – or, even better, to become one. As a Life Coach, you will have the knowledge and ability to help people notice what’s holding them back, and to create plans and take steps that create real, lasting changes in their lives. You’ll also have a clearer perspective on your own journey, so you will spend less time doing things that won’t get results, and more time moving forward.
